Byte launched its teledentistry platform in 2019 and has since enjoyed remarkable growth in the invisible aligner market. The company's low-cost, guaranteed impression kit, staff of licensed dentists and orthodontists, as well the free product enhancements it offers, make Byte an attractive option for patients who need mild to moderate orthodontic correction.

To get started, patients complete an at-home impression kit and provide photographs to be evaluated through a personalized patient portal. This is the most affordable teeth alignment service that I have been able to find, and it has been a relatively straight forward experience. So far, my teeth are aligning properly, and I have only experienced minor discomfort. Aside from delayed response times (it takes a few days for them to get back to you with questions and requests), they do their best to help you. Best of all, this service was covered partially by my insurance provider.

When I was deciding on which company to use, Byte stood out for a few reasons: 1) Cost: Without considering insurance, the price was lowest of the options. And Byte takes insurance, in case you were wondering. 2) Ease of access: Most aligner companies now do 100% at-home treatments but there are some that require a visit to a physical location for the initial consultation or to have your impressions done. Four out of five stars, since I’m only about halfway done with my Byte aligners. But, so far, it’s going really well! My teeth are obviously improving, and discomfort is minimal (and usually only that first night/day of a new aligner!). The customer service folks are friendly and helpful, and the kit gives you easy to follow instructions with “teeth in cheek” humor. Ha. I can’t wait to see my new smile!!
